Age of Rabid Reason

We live in a time of belief, and yet in an age of rabid reason. We will believe in anything so long as it has some believable rationality behind it. On the other hand, we have come so far in our sciences and in our philosophies that we think that we can see the end of the yellow brick road and have no need to continue the journey to the Emerald City. We have spent so much time de-mythologizing the myths of the Greeks, Romans, Indians, Egyptians and others to the point that they have become common in our time and ineffective as tools for the enchantment of Life.
